Solar energy projects WPK and Van der Lugt

Almost two years ago (November 2014), WPK and Van der Lugt registered with three projects for the highest tranche of the SDE+ subsidy on solar energy. In our view, this is a great incentive to invest in an environmentally friendly manner. The grant provider also thought so, because all three projects were approved. Together they will produce approximately 500,000 kWh per year for the next 25 years.

In the autumn of 2015, the shed roof of the WPK branch on Aaksterlaan in ‘s-Gravenzande was replaced. The roof was still fitted with asbestos-containing corrugated sheets, so it was high time to replace this with an insulated shed roof. At the same time, a 100 Watt peak* (Wp) installation has been installed.

The roof of Van der Lugt’s existing business premises followed in the spring of 2016. A larger installation of 330 Wp was installed there. The sustainable improvement of using solar energy has also recently been implemented at WPK in Made. A new folding deck has been installed on part of the business premises, with a 200 Wp installation on it.

*Watt peak is the unit of measurement used to indicate the power of solar panels according to internationally established standards.
